THE CARE FOR KIDS

War and domestic violence destroy the lives of many families in Ukraine every day. Hundreds of women are left alone with their children—without a home, means of subsistence, or support. To help them, the Christian mission New Life implemented one of its most important projects—a home for mothers, children, and orphans.

Thanks to the support of partners (Giving Hearts International), construction was completed, and on September 1, 2023, the project began operating. The complex is designed to accommodate 30 mothers and 70 children at a time. During this time, the House has already become a safe haven for more than 50 women and 80 children who have fled violence or lost everything due to military action.

Comprehensive support for families The Mother and Child Home is not just a roof over their heads, but a whole system of support for recovery:

The work of a team of specialists: psychologists, doctors, educators, and teachers help them overcome past traumas and heal.

On-site kindergarten: children learn, engage in creative activities, play, and develop in a safe environment.

Adaptation programs for women: mothers learn to care for their children, manage their households, plan for the future, and become independent.

Counteracting orphanhood: the mission works directly with maternity hospitals to help women in crisis not to give up their children, but to preserve their families.

The results of the work are already visible: children are smiling and developing again, and women are radically changing their lives, becoming caring and responsible mothers.

A mother and child home is a sacred place where children can enjoy their childhood and families can have a chance at a happy future. The mission team continues its daily work to increase the number of such places of refuge in Ukraine.
