The Mother and Child Home became a lifesaver for a young mother with a baby.

The leadership of the New Life Christian Mission's Mother and Child House project was approached by maternity hospital staff and the Children's Service with a request to help a young mother who found herself in difficult life circumstances.
Twenty-year-old Oleksandra and her newborn son were staying at the maternity hospital in Dobroslav, Odesa Oblast, with nowhere to go.

After a detailed review of the situation, the shelter team decided to take in the mother and child. Today, the doors of the Mother and Child Home have opened for another family, giving them a chance for a safe future.

Oleksandra told us that she was born in the village of Vyhoda, in the Bilyaevsky district of Odesa region. From an early age, life tested her strength: in her early childhood, she lost her mother, and later her father passed away. The girl was raised by her grandmother, but due to her difficult relationship with her uncle, she often left home and was forced to live in a boarding school. After graduating from high school, she was unable to enter a university, leaving her without clear life goals.

The outbreak of war forced her to look for a safe place. First, she evacuated to Ternopil, and then to Poland. There, she met a young man with whom she began a relationship and soon found out she was pregnant. However, due to problems with her documents, she was deported back to Ukraine.

Without her own home or family to support her, Oleksandra sought shelter with friends throughout her pregnancy. When her son was born, the question arose: where to go next?
The maternity hospital staff, who had been helping Oleksandra and her baby for two months, did their best to find a safe place for them. Thanks to their initiative and concern, the Mother and Child Center has become a real salvation for the young mother and her son.

Here, Oleksandra will be able to get the support she needs to get back on her feet, and her baby will be able to grow up in warmth, comfort and love.

We are grateful to everyone who contributes to the development of the shelter. Thanks to you, this place is becoming a new beginning for those who need it most.
