HELP TO THE WAR-AFFECTED POPULATION
On February 24, a full-scale war began in Ukraine. Every day and everywhere shots and noise from rockets are heard. The invasion happened completely unexpectedly and no one was prepared for it in advance. Panic and anxiety gripped almost all people and the majority now makes the only decision — to leave the country as soon as possible. Given the fact that the vast majority of the population is below the poverty line, people simply do not have the means to travel abroad on their own. New Life Christian Mission does not stand aside in this difficult time. Within the framework of the project «Let's Help to Survive» — GCS, the Mission offers free assistance in evacuating the population to the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. And since the day this project was created, our hotline has been receiving a huge number of calls from people asking for help to get to the border every day from early morning until evening.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 1200 residential buildings in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions have been damaged by rocket attacks. We have launched a project to provide heating systems and firewood to houses in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions that have been damaged by shelling and are in an emergency but habitable condition.
New Life Christian Mission is building water wells in Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson regions to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and provide clean drinking water to residents.
There is also an urgent issue of providing housing for internally displaced persons and refugees from the hot spots of hostilities and occupied cities. Kharkiv, Mariupol, Mykolaiv and many other cities are subjected to daily rocket attacks by enemy troops, leaving millions of civilians homeless. New Life Christian Mission is involved in solving the housing problem for refugees and in this regard is building a «Town for refugees» in the village of Velykiy Dalnyk, Odesa region.
