LOSING EVERYTHING, BUT NOT HOPE: IRYNA OLEKSIIVNA'S STORY

Iryna Oleksiivna is 69 years old. Today she lives at the Christian Mission "New Life", actively participates in community life, helps other residents, and gratefully reflects on the path through which God carried her through many trials.

Her story began long before she became acquainted with the mission.

In the 1990s, Iryna Oleksiivna was raising four children on her own. It was a difficult time for many Ukrainian families, but for her it became a particularly hard test. Due to fraudulent actions, she lost the house that was the only home for her and her young children.

Left without a home, she was forced to start her life almost from scratch.

Despite all difficulties, she continued fighting for her children, worked hard, tried to provide everything they needed, and refused to let circumstances break her spirit.

Years passed. The children grew up and built their own lives. It seemed that the hardest trials were finally behind her.

But life had another challenge in store.

At one point, Iryna Oleksiivna lost contact with her daughter Anna.

Years went by.

The family knew almost nothing about her fate. Gradually, hope of finding Anna began to fade. Her brother and sisters had nearly stopped believing they would ever meet again.

But not their mother.

"I believed she was alive," recalls Iryna Oleksiivna.

Even after many years, she continued to pray and wait.

Then one day, something happened that she had hoped for over so many years.

The telephone rang.

On the other end of the line was Anna.

After many years of separation, mother and daughter heard each other's voices once again.

It is difficult to describe the joy of that moment. For Iryna Oleksiivna, it was a direct answer to prayer.

Gradually, they began rebuilding their relationship.

Anna told her mother about the people she had met on her journey, about faith, and about the Christian community she had become connected with.

Not long afterward, life once again placed Iryna Oleksiivna before a difficult choice.

Due to life circumstances, she found herself without housing. Events unfolded so quickly that she had to leave her place of residence without knowing where to go next.

It was then that Anna suggested her mother seek help from Christian friends who were willing to receive and support her during this difficult period.

For Iryna Oleksiivna, this was not an easy decision.

Throughout her life, she had relied on her own strength. Asking for help was difficult.

She thought about her daughter's proposal for a long time.

But eventually, she agreed.

That decision marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

After moving to the Christian Mission "New Life", she immediately became actively involved in community life, served as a cook, and found much more than just a roof over her head.

There she found support, care, and people who became a true family to her.

Today, Iryna Oleksiivna continues helping other residents, participates in community life, and shares her story with those who are facing difficult circumstances.

Her journey reminds us of an important truth:

Even when a person loses a home, stability, or contact with loved ones, hope remains.

Sometimes one phone call, one meeting, and one right decision can change a life for the better.

For Iryna Oleksiivna, that decision was trust.

And God gradually turned everything else into a remarkable story of restoration.
