ANOTHER STEP TOWARD A GREAT GOAL — CONSTRUCTION OF THE “SHELTER FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES”
Every day, the Christian Mission “New Life” receives requests from elderly people who have been left without housing, support, or necessary care because of the war, the loss of loved ones, or difficult life circumstances.
The Mission’s current shelter has long been overcrowded. Because there is no available space, we are not always able to accept everyone who asks for help. That is why an important decision was made — to begin construction of a new modern Shelter for elderly people and people with disabilities in the village of Velykyi Dalnyk, Odesa Region.
It will be more than just a building. It will become a true home where people can once again experience safety, care, respect, and hope.
The new Shelter will include a specialized palliative care unit for seriously ill people who require constant assistance. A medical unit is also planned, where residents will be able to receive regular examinations and the necessary medical care.
The residential rooms are being designed with the needs of elderly people and people with disabilities in mind. The complex will also include a dining hall, green areas for rest and emotional recovery, a library, as well as rooms for spiritual fellowship and psychological support.
Construction is continuing, and an important amount of work has been completed during the latest stage. The construction of the interior walls in the residential building has been completed, forming the layout of the future rooms and other premises.
In the administrative building, work on the first floor has been completed, and the monolithic reinforced-concrete floor slab has been poured. This important stage was preceded by the installation of formwork, reinforcement of the structure, and continuous concreting.
The completed floor slab will provide a reliable foundation for the next stages of construction. Many complex financial, logistical, and construction tasks still remain, but every completed stage brings us closer to the great goal.
The Christian Mission “New Life” sincerely thanks its international partners, benefactors, volunteers, and every person who supports this project through prayer, work, and donations.
Every contribution matters. Together, we are building a home where elderly people and people with disabilities will be able to receive the care, support, and dignified living conditions they need.
