New Hope for Anna: The Story of a Young Mother Who Won’t Give Up
The Child Welfare Service of the Balt City Council in the Odesa region reached out to the “New Life” Christian Mission with a request to help a young mother who, after giving birth, found herself in a difficult situation and needed housing and social support.
Anna is only 20 years old. She is from Tarutino in the Odessa region and was raised by her mother. Immediately after graduating from high school, she became a mother—giving birth to her son Dmytro, who is now 2.6 years old.
Anna is the mother of three children. Her middle child passed away on the 20th day of life due to pneumonia. This loss left a deep mark on the young woman’s heart. Recently, Hanna gave birth to her third child, and after the delivery, she found herself in extremely difficult circumstances.
Pain and New Challenges
The conditions in which the family lived did not meet the requirements for raising children safely. While Anna was in the maternity ward, her eldest son, Dmytro, was temporarily placed with a foster family.
In addition to her daily hardships, Anna carries the unhealed pain of losing her middle child. It is incredibly difficult to endure such grief alone, and that is why we are by her side now.
A New Home — A New Beginning
Hanna was referred to the Mother and Child Home of the “New Life” Christian Mission, where she found not just shelter, but genuine support—people who are helping her cope with the pain of loss, care for her newborn, and gradually find the strength to move forward. Here, she is provided with everything necessary for a comfortable and safe life.
The Best Is Yet to Come
Hanna refuses to give up. Despite the grief she has endured, she finds the strength to think about the future—about her children, about her family. She sincerely wants to change her life and create decent conditions for them. The children’s father is also making efforts to set up a shared home—and as soon as this becomes possible, the family plans to reunite.
“We believe that with God’s help, the support of caring people, and the mother’s own sincere desire—this story will have a happy ending.”
