They both came broken. And they became a family.

A new family was born at the New Life Christian Mission.
This is not a metaphor or a nice phrase for a report. This is a real-life story of two people who came here from different sides of pain and found each other where they least expected it. They found each other not because they were looking for each other, but because they first found themselves.

She was only looking for safety

Lyudmila came to the Mother and Child Home with her sons after a difficult experience. The mission became a safe place for her, where she could breathe again and start over. But the deepest change took place inside: here she came to know God, accepted Him into her heart, and was baptized — and that was the real starting point of her new life.

He returned to himself

Mikhail went through the loss of his wife, hopelessness, and alcohol addiction. Hearing about New Life near the train station, he came — and that decision changed everything. At the mission, he not only overcame his addiction but also found God: he accepted Christ into his heart, was baptized, and rebuilt himself from within. Today, the one who once needed help is reaching out to others.

What is born alongside service
They both chose not just to stay—they chose to serve.
 Having changed from within, Lyudmila and Mikhail couldn't help but share what they had received themselves. Together with other volunteers, they help people who are just beginning their journey of recovery every day. It was in this shared service that their paths converged.

No one plans to fall in love in a place where hearts are healed. But perhaps that is why it happens most often — where everything is real.

March 6. A day that will be remembered forever
On this date, Lyudmila and Mikhail became husband and wife. Their wedding was a living testimony that God truly restores what seemed broken forever. Two people who came to the mission sick, lonely, and discouraged left here healed, faithful to God and to each other.

Today, this family is part of the large family of the New Life Mission. They know what it means to lose. And they know what it means to be found — both by God and by a loved one. That is why their presence here is not just ministry. It is hope in action.
