TWO STORIES — ONE FAMILY: HOW GOD BROUGHT YURI AND YULIA TOGETHER
Every person has their own story. Sometimes it begins with pain, loneliness, loss, and difficult circumstances. But God can change even the most difficult path and lead a person into a new life.
This is what happened to Yuri and Yulia — two people who went through difficult trials, found support in the Christian Mission “New Life,” and recently became a family.
On September 19, 2026, Yuri and Yulia got married in church. For them, this day was not simply a wedding day, but the beginning of a new chapter of life together.
TWO DIFFICULT JOURNEYS
Yuri is 35 years old. His childhood was marked by the loss of his father. When Yuri was 11, he lost his father, and this pain remained in his heart for many years.
As an adult, Yuri struggled with addiction. At the age of 30, his life began to fall apart. Financial difficulties, smoking, constant inner stress, and physical exhaustion were taking away his strength.
It seemed impossible to overcome this situation on his own.
But in October 2021, Yuri made the decision to change his life. He turned to the Christian Mission “New Life” for help, and in 2022 he completed rehabilitation at a specialized center in Velykyi Dalnyk, Odesa region.
There, he received support from ministers, rehabilitation center staff, and people close to him. Yuri began rebuilding his life, and in 2022 he was baptized in water.
At that time, he did not yet know that ahead of him was not only a new stage of life with God, but also a meeting with the woman who would become his wife.
YULIA’S STORY
Yulia is 24 years old. Her childhood was also difficult.
When she was seven, she was taken to a boarding school because her parents struggled with alcohol and were unable to properly care for their daughter.
Yulia studied at the boarding school until she was 18 and completed 11 grades.
After reaching adulthood, she faced the question: where should she go next? She could not return to her parents. Ahead of her was uncertainty, while inside she felt loneliness and confusion.
It was at that time that someone entered her life and changed the direction of her journey.
While still at school, Yulia met a girl and volunteer named Yulia. She was the one who introduced her to the Christian Mission “New Life.”
This meeting became the beginning of a new chapter for her.
At the mission, Yulia found people who accepted her, supported her, and helped her understand that she was not alone.
“New Life” became a place where she found friends, care, support, and a sense of family.
A MEETING THEY DID NOT EXPECT
In 2023, Yuri met Yulia at the “New Life” mission.
Both carried difficult pasts. They had different life experiences, but they were united by faith in God, shared values, and a desire to build a new life.
Their relationship gradually developed.
For Yuri, Yulia became someone with whom he could dream about the future. For Yulia, Yuri became a man beside whom she could experience love, support, and confidence in tomorrow.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2026
And then the day they had been waiting for arrived.
On September 19, 2026, Yuri and Yulia became husband and wife.
Their church wedding was a special moment for them, their loved ones, friends, and their entire spiritual family.
Two people with difficult stories began one shared story.
Yuri, who once walked through a journey of addiction and recovery.
Yulia, who had known loneliness and life without parental care since childhood.
Both went through their own trials. Both found support in the Christian Mission “New Life.” And it was here that their paths crossed.
A NEW CHAPTER
Today, they look toward the future no longer alone.
Ahead of them is a shared life, a family, ministry, new dreams, and many unwritten pages that they will write together.
Their story reminds us that the past does not have to determine the future.
Yuri and Yulia came to “New Life,” each carrying their own story. One was looking for freedom from addiction and restoration; the other was looking for acceptance, support, and a place she could call home.
And they found much more.
They found new life — and they found each other.
Today they can say that what once seemed like an ending became the beginning of a new story.
And now their story is no longer two separate paths.
It is one family.
